Danceoke : Loisir ? Installation contemporaine ? Divertissement ? Performance ? Bal ? Fièvre rituelle du samedi soir ? Le danceoke, mot-valise qui rassemble danse et karaoke, est tout cela à la fois. Les participants-performers sont conviés à reproduire immédiatement les mouvements de clips vidéos soigneusement choisis et projetés devant eux. Tout y est permis, et les corps des participants peuvent alors s'affranchir de tout apprentissage ou improvisation. Les seules consignes sont de regarder, suivre et faire. Dans un cérémonial mis en scène automatiquement par les participants, on voit peu à peu se transformer un espace social en lieu de performance physique qui se compose dans l'instant. Danceoke ou lorsque Lady Gaga peut nous amener à danser du William Forsythe…

Danceoke: Contemporary installation? Entertainment? Performance? Dance floor? A Saturday-night ritual fever? Danceoke (a portmanteau merging dance and karaoke) is all of these at once. Participants-performers are invited to instantly replicate the movements from carefully selected music videos projected in front of them. Everything is allowed. Bodies are released from technique, training, or improvisation. The only instructions are simple: watch, follow and dance it !  Within a ritual collectively staged by the participants themselves, a social space gradually mutates into a site of physical performance, composed in real time. Danceoke, or how Lady Gaga might suddenly lead us into the choreography of William Forsythe.
