Imaginée pour de futurs interprètes, In between prend appui sur un unique motif chorégraphique, tel un fil ténu dont on se saisit pour le tirer jusqu’à l’épuiser. Répété, déplacé, diffracté, ce geste engendre un flux hypnotique où la danse semble se réinventer à même sa propre persistance. La partition, d’une précision presque implacable, n’enferme cependant pas les corps : elle creuse l’espace fragile où la rigueur rencontre le tremblement, où la règle laisse affleurer l’accident. Car ce sont les failles (et non la perfection ) qui rendent les corps vibrants, joyeux, en un mot, vivants. Sous l’apparente uniformité des mouvements partagés, chaque danseur et danseuse révèle la singularité irréductible de son langage, faisant surgir une multitude de voix depuis une même phrase. De cette écriture tenue au cordeau naissent alors des interstices, des clairières où se déploie un paysage instable, changeant, presque insaisissable. Peu à peu, quelque chose se fissure dans le temps répétitif : une liberté infime mais décisive, une échappée du corps qui, à l’intérieur même de la contrainte, invente sa propre respiration.

Designed for future performers, In between rests on a single choreographic motif — a slender thread we grasp and pull until it begins to fray. Repeated, shifted, refracted, the gesture generates a hypnotic flow in which dance seems to reinvent itself through its own persistence. The score, almost merciless in its precision, does not imprison the bodies; instead it opens a fragile zone where rigor meets trembling, where rule gives way to accident. For it is in the cracks — not in perfection — that bodies become vibrant, joyful, in a word, alive. Beneath the apparent uniformity of shared movements, each dancer reveals the irreducible singularity of their own language, as though a chorus of voices were rising from a single sentence. From this tightly held writing emerge clearings, interstitial spaces in which an unstable, shifting, nearly elusive landscape unfolds. Little by little, something fractures within the repetitive flow of time: a freedom, slight yet decisive, a bodily escape that, from inside constraint itself, invents its own breath.
